Amélia scholarship

Together with the D. Maria II National Theater, the Vila Flor Cultural Center and the Viriato Theater, Espaço do Tempo participates in the Bolsa Amélia Rey Colaço (Amélia scholarship), an innovative project in the revelation and support of emerging theater projects in Portugal. With great pride, we welcome the final rehearsal weeks of this creation, as well as the premiere of Aurora Negra staged by Cleo Tavares, Isabél Zuaa e Nádia Yracema. With dozens of projects In the process of applying, Bolsa Amélia represents the possibility of discovering emerging talent of a generation, a rich selection process shared with other programmers and, even more importantly, a rich learning process for us, because even those who have the difficult task of choosing, also have the privilege of learning.

YEP – Young Emerging Performers

YEP – Young Emerging Performers seeks to promote projects by young creators within the performing arts circuit, contributing at the same time for cultural decentralization and and mobility of artists and proposals.

Each year, 3 emerging artists, selected by Rua das Gaivotas 6 and O Espaço do Tempo direction, will go through artistic residencies in both spaces, benefiting from its conditions and equipments, as well as the counselling provided by Teatro Praga and Rui Horta.

A network for trust and cooperation between European dancehouses sharing a common vision regarding the development of dance art across borders.

Our mission

To cooperate in securing a sustainable future for the dance sector and to improve relevance for diverse dance among society.

IETM

IETM – International network for contemporary performing arts – is a network of over 450 performing arts organisations and individual members working in the contemporary performing arts worldwide: theatre, dance, circus, performance, interdisciplinary live art forms, new media.

Our members include festivals, companies, producers, theatres, research and resource centers, universities and institutional bodies.

We hold two plenary meetings a year in different European cities, and smaller meetings all over the world. Besides, we commission publications and research projects, facilitate communication and distribution of information, and advocate for the value of performing arts.

We advocate the value of the arts and culture in a changing world and empower performing arts professionals through access to international connections, knowledge and a dynamic forum for exchange.

Our vision for equity, diversity and inclusion

We aim to create a more inclusive contemporary arts field by helping our members to diversify their organisations and work, and stimulating underrepresented performing arts professionals to join our activities and the network, regardless of their background, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, physical abilities, social conditions, working and employment status, age, career path and geographical location.

International Tanzmesse

NRW International Dance Fair (Germany)

O Espaço do Tempo coordinates the presentation of Portuguese projects at the next edition of Internationale
Tanzmesse NRW (North Rhine- Westphalia) in Dusseldorf, from August 20 to August 26, 2020. It will be an open representation to all choreographers and companies wishing to attend the world’s largest event in the disseminationof dance, a meeting point for hundreds of programmers, creators and numerous entities that are interested in, and support this artistic language. In addition to a stand with promotional material from the represented projects, there is also the possibility that some choreographic works are chosen to be presented during that week, a selection from the direction of Tanzmesse. Some support for this purpose will be available and will be released in due course.
