Monólogo de uma mulher chamada Maria com a sua patroa

A monologue by a woman named Maria with her mistress is the title stolen clandestinely from a text in the book “Novas Cartas Portuguesas”, and it sets the tone for this show.
The starting point is the creation of the first Domestic Service Union in Portugal to tell the story, still mostly unknown, untold, unrecognized and devalued, of women’s work, of their power to organize, demand and bring change.
It is the story of the women who clean the world, the women who care for the world, the women who produce, educate and prepare the workforce.
This is the story of the invisible work that sets the world in motion.

Porto, 1990. Studied Interpretation at Academia Contemporânea do Espectáculo. She is an actress, director and playwright. She works regularly in television, film and theatre. In 2020 she founded the artistic structure Cassandra. She’s fond of exploring archives, likes stories, memories and people. Feminist, activist against all inequalities, she’s inconsistent and trying to be better, revolutionary enough, an artist difficult to tame.
