Monólogo de uma mulher chamada Maria com a sua patroa

“MONÓLOGO DE UMA MULHER CHAMADA MARIA COM A SUA PATROA” is the title stolen, clandestinely, from one of the texts in the book “Novas Cartas Portuguesas” (1971), by Maria Teresa Horta, Maria Velho da Costa and Maria Isabel Barreno.
Based on the investigation of the creation of the first Domestic Service Union in Portugal and its first national congress (1979), with around seven thousand members, through interviews and the study of other materials, we will create a show about domestic work , structurally attrib- uted to women.
We will discover how to remove from invisibility the unrecognized and, often, unpaid work, which underlies unregulated patriacal capitalism.
