O Guardião do Rio (Show)

A river is a capricious and powerful entity, capable of irrigating fields, but also of sweeping away everything in its path. A dam can shape its character and protect the Lower Village. But, dilemma, if it retains too much water, it risks flooding Aldeia de Cima. To avoid this, the elders of the two villages, in a diplomatic conversation with civilized evocations of cachaporra, created the position of the Guardian of the River, a function that consists of carefully fixing, twenty-four hours a day, the water level and opening the faucet at minimum full signal. It’s not a technically difficult profession, but it’s very absorbing and very, very lonely. Lonely, celibate, embittered, here’s the Guardian of the River. A guy who has to pull his imagination to keep a conversation going. He has to pull the imagination so hard that maybe it’s not conversations but hallucinations, the subject that brings Dr. Frederico to the bank of the river, a specialist (from his own experience) in personality disorders.

O Guardião do Rio is a fun exercise in schizophrenia, made possible by the coexistence of puppets and an actor.
