Miopia — Rita Delgado

To the nearsighted (and curious):
Struggling to see things in the distance is seen as something common and irrelevant although we are seeing less and less. The number of myopic people grows exponentially, without any attention being paid to this pathology. In this meeting, we’ll finally be focusing on Myopia!
Without ostracizing those who suffer from this disorder and looking for distant empathy, we’ll examine possible causes and symptoms, reveal how a myopic eye “sees” and reflect on the implications of this disease on our perception of the World and our relationship with Others.
Is there anything we can do to stop this epidemic from developing? Or is myopia inherent to our human condition?

ABOUT RITA DELGADO

Rita Delgado graduated by ESTC (2014/2017). Held Workshops with Miguel Loureiro, Maria Duarte,
Pedro Gil, Keli Freitas. Co-creation of the play «Reunião da Sala 3» (2014), at Teatro
Rápido. Interned at TNDM II (2017/2018), where she performed in «Casimiro and
Carolina», by Odon von Horváth, enc. Tónan Quito. Co-created the play «FIM» with João Estima, premiered in October 2020, at CAL, as part of the Festival Temps D’Images.
