Mathilde Bonicel (residency)
March 7 - March 13
Scappare comes from the Latin “excappare” and means “to leave the screed”, to escape. Leonard Bernstein conducted the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra in 1983 on the finale of Haydn’s Symphony in G No. 88 with his face and mainly his eyes.
Like a fugue, all kinds of multitudes of bodies and figures appear and escape, flee. A body that contains several. Loneliness in front of a group and back to another.
Emphasize the unusual, mysterious and chaotic nature of the human experience. The great tragicomic and absurd spectacle that we give us humans, with all the horrors and beauties that this implies. The inconsistency of the things that follow. Irrational drives. Being able to use them.
Mathilde Bonicel graduated in violin, singing and dancing at the conservatory, then joined the higher education course at the CCN in Rillieux-la-pape, directed by Maguy Marin. Continued in the PEPCC cycle, Forum Dança, in Lisbon. She is currently a performer in the pieces “Muyte Maker” and “Glottis” by Flora Détraz and “Lento e Largo” by Jonas & Lander.
Since 2020, she starts her own work as a choreographer, and plunges into the creation of a solo that will see the light of day in 2022.
