BLACKFACE (probable title)

Based on a racist theatre form created in the early 19th century, Marco Mendonça wishes to reimagine his life as a performative act, in which doubt, hate and ignorance break through the memories of an allegedly happy, peaceful and hopeful childhood. Reflecting on power conflicts such as peoples VS colonizers, public VS art, memory VS fiction, the actor questions the segregationist side of theatre and the way it contributes to the amplification and legitimization of oppressive racial dynamics. What would the world be like if racism hadn’t found its way into art?
