O Silêncio do Corpo

The silence is total, but inside me an agitation reigns. Contradictory information that is processed in real time. The body says it can’t take it anymore, but my mind doesn’t care, pushing the body beyond its limits.
In this state the silence is deafening, and every movement that is made pushes us away from the limit. The starting point for this creation, exploring the physical limit to show what you see/feel on the other side, where our mental state supports and pushes us, revealing primary emotions, as much intimate as universal. The Chinese Pole is the apparatus that will serve as a pretext for diving vertically into the depth of the human being, reaching its limit, and surpassing it.

Erva Daninha was created in Porto in 2006. Is a company dedicated to contemporary circus. Directed by Vasco Gomes and Julieta Guimarães invites other creators to deepen the circus dramaturgies and promote new languages. João Paulo Santos, born in Portugal and living in France, directs the new creation of the company. An international reference in the contemporary circus, creator, teacher, and director of the company O Último Momento that passed through Chapitô, Rosny and CNAC.
