Underground Loves

This documentary theatre show investigates the love relations that were born within the anti-fascist struggle in Portugal, analyzing how these relations were able to survive the persecution of the Portuguese fascism regime Estado Novo and at the same time were the basis of the sustainability of this same political struggle. Many of these couples managed to have children, to maintain their family life while participating in actions against the Estado Novo, PIDE persecutions, informers, among others. At the same time, the show investigates the false love relationships that were were created in the undergound life to keep up the appearance of people who who secretly were fighting against fascism in Portugal.
