FINISSAGE

FINISSAGE is a piece on the universe of the Museum of Contemporary Art – a limitless, irreverent, provocative and sensory setting that triggers reactions and behaviours that are different and peculiar in nature. The aim is to look at the recognition and analysis of behavioural patterns necessarily associated with the moment when a work of art is put on display and appreciated.
How ‘are we’ in a museum? In what way do we engage with and take possession of a work of art? What rules of behaviour are highlighted and recognisable in such a setting? What stakes lay beyond art when its celebration turns into a social event?

Guilherme de Sousa & Pedro Azevedo met in 2014 and have been collaborating professionally since 2016.
Their work covers fine arts and performing arts, and they have a special interest in theatre, dance and installation.
Among their works stand “Crocodile Tears”, “Counter-mould”, “Apartment” and “Horto – A form from touch”.
They were Young Associated Artists of the Teatro Municipal do Porto, for the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons.
