I know what is today the weight of air, hollow secret hurting alone
I know the darkness where pains dwell, soothing them from their own blindness
Faintly lit they seem smaller — or I no longer pay heed
I have a void filled chamber, untroubled and unrushed, replacing my entrails
Today I know what it is to be translucent, what it is to have my lap inhabited by nothing
On the walls I remember my many spins
The worlds I turned on my lips
Sweet flavours I’ve tasted
Pencil drawings I’ve erased
Of coming and going
And I fear, again
I thought I wouldn’t
I feel a growing turmoil, a threat
That sighs and embraces me
Embarrassing me,
And I seek to dissolve
Shapeless
On the way to paradise

About Bruna Carvalho

Bruna Carvalho was born in 1983 in Portugal.
She studied music, dance, performance, management and production of the performing arts.
Interdisciplinary and multifaceted artist, she works in the intersection of several artistic languages, with emphasis on dance, music, performance, writing and photography. She signs the performances Better One Flying (2016), E.le.men.to (2017), Gesture Towards the Contempt of the World (2018), Crooked Slow Broken Suspended (2019), Taranta (2020), Penumbra (2020/2021) Never More Another Now (2021) and Dissolution (2022).
She is co-director and coordinator of a cultural and performative event, where she also presents her work as a creator, musician, composer and performer.
She also works as an interpreter and co-creator in projects of other artists.
