Bochecha — Sementes para um Futuro | Miguel Filipe
Bochecha, Sementes para um Futuro, by Miguel Filipe, is a musical and choreographic show for a trio of performers. How can we fulfill our desires if they are blocked by constant mental activity? Almost without leaving us a step, moving, achieving something… Either we stagnate, or we explode from so much frenetic activity. We then become polyrhythmic beings because we live in duality, between dream and decision, possibility and reality. It is not just about doubting these dualities, but above all about accepting them, affirming or exalting them. All music played live is inscribed in the contemporary classical repertoire for solo percussion. Freely inspired by the life story and poetry of Stella do Patrocínio.

About Miguel Filipe
Miguel Filipe (b.1994) is a Portuguese percussionist and a performer/creator.
He did is musical studies at the Lisbon Profissional School of Metropolitana, Lisbon Superior School of Music and at Superior Conservatoire of music and Dance of Lyon. And his performance studies at Royaumont Fondation (Paris) and Impuls Academy Graz (Austria).
As a freelance percussionist he collaborated with various classic orchestras, contemporary music ensembles, percussion ensembles and world music groups.
As a performer he collaborates with the Cape-Verdean Choreographer Marlene Monteiro Freitas in the pieces From Ivory and Flesh – status also suffer (2014), Bacchae – prelude to a purge (2017) and Mal – Embriaguez Divina (2020). Collaborates also with the choreographer Joana Schweizer, the choreographer Sylvain Groud and the musical theater composer François Sarhan.
He was supported by Gulbenkian Fondation, GDA Fondation and Adami for his studies, for whom Miguel is very grateful.
In October 2022, Miguel Filipe will present his first multidisciplinary piece , a music-dance trio entitled Bochecha – seeds for a future at the Small auditorium of CCB , Lisbon.
