Beatriz Cantinho e Túlio Rosa (residency)
March 14 - March 20
Atlantic Archive is an artistic project by Beatriz Cantinho and Túlio Rosa that proposes to think about coloniality through the elaboration of an archive, which has the potential to inform and problematize the present. The project is articulated around different research and composition strategies and seeks to deconstruct, reconfigure and question narratives and visualities that characterize political and social imaginaries of a colonial matrix. The project has been developed under different formats; podcast, film screenings and more recently, under a choreographic approach in relation to the different materials, through the exploration and questioning of their performative dimension.
Beatriz Cantinho has a PhD in Dance/Philosophy – University of Edinburgh. Independent choreographer and researcher at the CHAIA and CIAC laboratories. Her work focuses on a critical analysis of movement with an aesthetic/political dimension, perceived as an expanded choreographic practice.
Túlio Rosa is a choreographer and researcher at the artistic investigation program – a.pass. His work is guided by issues related to the body and image in contemporary times, and their status in relation to our imagination and society.
